Arno Hintjens (Ostend, 21 May 1949) was the Master of the very first edition of the Ostend Film Festival in 2007 and received the first star on the Walk Of Fame on the seafront. Arno has been making music for over half a century. Songs like 'O la la c'est magnifique' and 'Les yeux de ma mère' have become national heritage. In 2021, together with filmmaker Dominique Deruddere, Josse De Pauw, Lou Berghmans and Peter Vantyghem, he made the documentary 'Charlatan, the life of Arno Hintjens'. That same year, at the age of 72, Arno released the piano record 'Vivre'.
On Sunday 6 March at 4 pm, Arno entered Kinepolis via the red carpet for the homage. The City of Ostend made a warm appeal to all the people of Ostend and Arno's fans to welcome the star with a line of honour and applause. After the red carpet everyone could attend the presentation of the award and watch the short film 'La vie de Roger' for free.
