These are the nominees of the Ensors 2022

Despite the chaos and uncertainty that has hit the audiovisual sector in recent weeks, one goal has remained intact: to continue awarding the Ensors in 2022. Until 30 January, the 1,400 members of the Ensor Academy will vote to determine the winners of the Ensors 2022. Find out who the nominees are in the 22 different categories below.

From 22 November to 19 December, the film and television professionals of the Ensor Academy could cast their votes in the first voting round. From the 91 films and series on the Ensor long list, no less than 32 productions managed to secure a nomination. In addition, a four-member jury of the Ensor for Best Short Film also selected 5 unique short films, bringing the total number of Ensor productions this year to 37. 

Most nominations go to Dealer. The film earned no less than 14 nominations, an unprecedented number in the history of The Ensors. Dealer is closely followed by two fiction series: Hotel Beau Séjour 2 (13 nominations) and F*** You Very, Very Much (12 nominations). In addition, the films Cool Abdoul (10 nominations) and Ferry (6 nominations) and the series Soil (10 nominations) and Red Light (7 nominations) are also doing particularly well. These productions also managed to bag several nominations: La Civil (4 nominations), Undercover 3 (4 nominations) and My Dad Is a Sausage (3 nominations). In addition, the list of nominees once again highlights the high quality of Flemish documentaries and short films.

The members of the Academy will start the second voting round on Monday 3 January. This will run until 30 January and will determine which nominations will be rewarded with an Ensor. Due to the relocation of the Ostend Film Festival, the Ensor Gala will also be postponed until March.
